Fitness FunDa with Jyoti publishes free guides on women’s fitness, weight, and health topics such as PCOS, menopause and life after pregnancy. This page explains how we write them, so you can judge how much to rely on them.

Who is responsible

Guides are written for Fitness FunDa with Jyoti by our content team and published under the name of our founder, Dr. Jyoti Srivastava, who is responsible for what the site says. Dr. Jyoti holds an honorary doctorate in women’s health and women’s empowerment and a diploma in nutrition and fitness. She is a fitness and nutrition coach, not a medical doctor. You can read more about her.

Our guides are not medically reviewed by a doctor unless a reviewer is named on the page. If we add an independent reviewer, we will show their name, qualification and the date they reviewed the page.

What our guides are, and are not

  • Fitness education and general wellness: how to move, eat and build habits, written for Indian women and Indian home routines.
  • Not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Where a topic involves a medical condition, we explain what reputable health bodies say and tell you when to see a doctor.
  • We never claim that exercise or our programs cure, reverse or treat any condition, and we never ask anyone to stop or change medication.

Which sources we use

We base health information on, in order of preference:

  1. Guidance from public health bodies: the World Health Organization, the NHS, the US National Institutes of Health (NIDDK), and the ICMR-National Institute of Nutrition.
  2. Professional clinical guidelines, such as the 2023 international PCOS guideline and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
  3. Peer-reviewed research, preferring systematic reviews and meta-analyses over single studies.

Every guide lists its sources at the end. We check each fact against the source when we write it, quote numbers as the source states them, and say so when the evidence is limited or uncertain. We do not use blogs, influencer content or product marketing as evidence.

Coaching experience

Alongside published evidence, our guides draw on what we have learned coaching Indian women since 2018: the food they cook, the routines they juggle and the barriers they face. We label this as our experience, not as research findings. If we publish figures from our own members, we will explain how they were collected and only share anonymised, aggregated information.

Member stories and results

Stories and results are shared with the member’s consent and in her own words. Results are shown as the member reported them, and individual results vary. See our health disclaimer.

Keeping pages up to date

Each guide shows the date it was last updated. We review our guides when the guidance they rely on changes, and at least once a year.

Corrections

If you think something on our site is wrong or out of date, please email us at admin@fundawithjyoti.com with the page and the source you are relying on. We will check it and correct the page if needed.

Advertising and independence

Fitness FunDa with Jyoti sells its own coaching programs, which our guides mention where relevant. We don’t accept payment for content and don’t recommend products in exchange for money.
